Where do you live?
I live in lovely Bournemouth!
What is your role within Dorset Mind Your Head?
I am a CYP practitioner
What led you to Dorset Mind?
I have always thought Dorset Mind is an incredible charity and so I jumped at the opportunity to work for them to help children and young people fight the stigma of mental health and to help others.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and going for long walks at the beach. I love wrapping up warm in the winter when it is cold down the beach and popping into a café for a hot chocolate and a slice of cake!
What is your story in relation to mental health?
I have struggled with anxiety in the past and it has always been something that I have had to learn to cope with. I received help when I was younger for my anxiety and it made a huge impact on my life that is why now I want to help other children and young people with their mental health and to teach them to remember that it is important to reach out and talk to someone about how they are feeling.
If you could give someone a piece of advice, what would it be?
There is no such thing as perfection, all you can do is your best and remember that is always enough
What is one self-care tip that you have found helpful?
It is important to find time to put yourself first and to do the things that you enjoy.
