Rowan Seymour – Volunteer Group Facilitator

Where do you live?

I live in Dorchester

What is your role within Dorset Mind Your Head?

I co-facilitate Connected Minds in Dorchester

What led you to Dorset Mind?

I have mentored young people in school environments, when this came to an end the opportunity to be part of Connected Minds came along. I am passionate about supporting young people with their mental health and for it to be something that can be talked about freely.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love being outside, especially walking my dog, I also enjoy yoga, making pottery, reading and sewing.

What is your story in relation to mental health?

I have struggled on and off with my own mental health and would have liked this sort of support as a young person, I’m still learning to keep my mind healthy now.

If you could give someone a piece of advice, what would it be?

Sharing always helps. Get outside and walk and talk.

What is one self-care tip that you have found helpful?

Walking always makes me feel better, whatever the weather.
